Bewitched and Bewildered:
A Coven of Works in Honor of International Women’s Day
In celebration of International Women’s Day, this exhibition is a convergence of cultures through art. A diverse collective of female artists has joined forces to showcase their talents and offer varied perspectives, demonstrating the universal allure of magic across different cultures, nationalities, and backgrounds. The concoction of our magical brew comprises diverse ingredients and spices, including the enchanting flavors of New York City’s culinary delights such as the (in)famous rats, the grandeur of a juicy large-scale tongue, shining visuals of trippy jellyfish and lava, an irresistible but inedible DOTS game, and an array of mixed multimedia works.
Within this spellbinding convergence of cultures and perspectives, we invite you to immerse yourself in a vibrant fusion of visuals and sound the alchemy of creativity, where the magic of femininity intertwines with the supernatural. Together, these three enchantresses invite you to join their coven in a celebration of artistry, mischief, and enchantment. As we revel in the playful mysticism of the feminine spirit, let us embrace the magic within and honor the power of women in the arts. Welcome to Bewitched and Bewildered, where every stroke of the brush and every note of the melody is infused with the potent brew of feminine (super)power and creativity. Delve into realms of trickery, mischief, and the supernatural, all imbued with a playful touch of humor.

Meet Our Artists:
Electric Djinn , a sorceress hailing from the heart of the USA, weaves a spell of visual and auditory splendor from the moment you enter the exhibition with her captivating live performance. Through her large-scale environmental-themed immersive video installation, Djinn transports viewers into a trippy experience of color, accompanied by unique electro-acoustic music and organic sounds of nature, beckons you into a realm where nature dances in harmony with technology. Her work serves as a gateway to the mystical world that awaits within, setting the tone for an otherworldly journey of exploration and wonder alongside Caroline’s tongue-in-cheek sculpture and Djinn’s creations.
Caroline Villard, a visionary from the land of Sweden, blurs the boundaries between realism, abstraction, and illusion through her surrealist installations and canvas works. Through a lens tinged with humor, she invites you to explore the labyrinthine corridors of human emotion within the tapestry of modern existence. Villard’s art reflects the interplay between consciousness and dreams, blending elements of pop culture with the absurd. Through her lens, viewers are invited to question their perceptions, proportions, materials, and the essence of Simulacra, offering a unique commentary on contemporary existence.
Carol Man, a luminary born of China’s rich artistic tradition, enchants with her acrylic on canvas series, challenging audiences to reconsider perception through her exploration of color blindness. Inspired by the Chinese expression “complement shape with shape,” Man offers a healing and nourishing bodily experience through visually interactive dot games incorporated into her work. Additionally, Man blends semantics and typography, juxtaposing her traditional Chinese language with her newfound religious language, Hebrew, to examine the playful interaction between meaning and visual representation. Her aggressive portrayal of gentle flowers on wood serves as an oxymoronic delight, weaving together contradictory elements to provoke thought and intrigue.
